I had one earlier tonight, might have lasted 5 minutes or so where no pages would load. Didn't think to take note of the time, just went and did some other things before trying again. It's been happening occasionally since the 2fa change was implemented though.
No vpn or any custom cookie blocking or whatever.

Codex has been very slow to load this morning, and occasionally craps out halfway through loading a thread with some posts and images not loading at all. It's like I'm on dial-up. Been that way for at least an hour.

I had basically the same problem for a few hours. The site didn't load 9/10 times during a 3 hour period. 10.30am-1pm.

During most of my work hours I couldnt even load the site, sometimes It would load a page and then again stop working.

Note down the time and your IP when it happens, I can't really do much without that info. You can post it here later when you can access the site again. Also try on another computer or mobile at the same time if you have the option to see if they are affected at the same time as well.

Actually few days ago when site was unaccessible, I tried these servers that are checking if site is down. And they confirmed it. The time down looks like is being reset or something.

Got a database crash there, I've repaired it.

That could have been a backup running at that time, though. When it's only a few minutes, it's almost certainly that.

Could it be a DDOS attempt, or someone on high speed network copying a lot of data from site?

Nope, we've got several backups throughout the day, 3-4. We cut off most DDoS attempts early on and just copying the data off the site wouldn't make it inaccessible.
