Was this formatting change done on purpose?

The extra space between the end of spoiler tag and the next line of text no longer actually spaces them:

All the things done before this change even occurred have been changed as well:

There used to be proper spacing, not anymore.

Autistic complaint aside, I just want to know if this was done on purpose or if it's a side effect of something else that was done behind the scenes.
