Something might actually be afoot. Both Tom McKay (Henry) and Luke Dale (Hans) are said to be in Prague right now.

What the fuck is that thing next to Tom McKay?
Westernization of Eastern Europe. There are Chinese, American niggers and Arabs in Belgrade too. Warsaw is full of Polish girls fucking American nigger marines. There is Serbian mudshark with her mulato baby son in my living block in Belgrade. All gold, silver and coal mines in Eastern Serbia are owned by Chinese with chinese military base. Prague is full of niggers. Bunch of feminists and feminist-light programs from governments. Local Slavic SJWs in our capitals LOVEEEEE larping West. Since ever. LOVE!

THANKS WEST FOR GLOBALISATION!

Um, I meant the bald thing with a goatee.

First I thought it's supposed to be Luke Dale, after living in San Francisco for 3 years, but it's probably just the poster.

Sorry, had to sieze opportunity to update Western Codex Broes about shituation with B-B-BASED Eastern Europe. Still, nowhere near as fucked as Western

As far as Kingdom Come is concerned, it's kinda time, isn't it! What? Six years+ in making, if it was a child, next year it would start going to school. Reminder that all gaming classics until ~2016 took 3-4-max5 years to make. Prior to 2010 games were made in ~3years top. In 90s/early 2000s it was even shorter. Everything else was considered "development hell". Modern development time, like for Starfield, are retardedly long. It takes modern gaming industry too long to shit its turds

What about RPGness of Kingdom Come 2? Will it improve or be sacrificied on altar of profit? I do not know what scope of world simulation and how many connected gameplay systems there will be. One thing is certainty: Henry will revisit us!

There's no way they'll be releasing it during the summer holiday months. October at the earliest... and 3 months is too short a time for a pre-release marketing plan campaign.

My best bet is a summer announcement with Q1 2025 release. The February drought window served them well last time.

But damn, if so it'd be 7 years between games. That's almost Rockstar level of production speed. Even Bethesda and CDPR are faster. Open-world RPGs are becoming unsustainable. It's like you start your career as a wide-eyed freshman, you make 4 to 5 games and you die as a decrepit old man. P. sad.

It'd better be fucking worth the wait.

I doubt they started production right after the first game. Maybe Vavra just spent the next 4-5 years living off the profits he made from the first one, traveling the world on a yacht, snorting coke off of hookers' asses, practicing HEMA, just living the good life, you know? :M

Yeah full production probably started like 2 years after the launch, at the earliest, coz they were busy with DLCs and the sale of the studio.

Still, 5 years of full production is A LOT for any project, however large.

They were also busy with developing the modding tools, which was the last thing done for KCD. Then there was the long remote work period during CONVID-19, which slowed things down due to the office being closed for work.

EDIT: New Glassdoor reviews...

Motivating environment, great people (Mar 5, 2024)

Pros

Great people to cooperate with. Motivating environment. Very interesting project.

Cons

Sometimes the procesess are chaotic.
If you have ambitions good start but dont stay long or you burn out (Mar 12, 2024)

Pros

- some seniors were very experienced and could learn a lot from them, but already left coz of management
- good for start in industry

Cons

- bad salary
- no relocation support
- unexperienced juniors on lead roles (even people in junior role get lead after 3 months if there is no1 better)
- no interest in hiring highly skilled professionals instead management saves money on people and hires someone who s cheaper
- you had to pay even for coffee machine...
- no objective performance review, if you want to improve things and push for quality you get weird looks, and feel like you have to be quite and never try to improve things
- patting on back approach with tasks, so everything looks good and you cant point out what's not looking good if you do well ppl don't listen usually

Advice to Management

Invest into team and hire experienced leads into positions (and seniors), listen to these people and never think what's cheap now will be cheap in long run

I always wonder the sort of person who posts these. Not to be a shill but there's always two sides to every story, maybe the 2nd one is an uptight dude. Or he's completely right, who knows.

Yeah I stopped taking the "management is toxic" kind of comments seriously. There are definitely toxic bosses, had one or two in my time myself, but in this day and age it could also mean the managers simply enforce discipline and work ethics while the zoomers in the office would rather sit around on bouncy balls, sip decaf latte and babble about socialism.
