Holy fuck Be Kind Rewind those are fucking amazing!!! And listen, if art were stuck in the Nazi era, Hitler wouldn't have done what he did and missed out on art school. Literally happened after the war because everyone realized how awful the nu-libtard art style was, and that rejection of tradition literally created Hitler.

Faggot.

Sawyer is by far one of the most open developers about what he's responsible for and what he does. He makes mistakes, but overall he's one of the best designers Obsidian has.

(though this says more about how lousy most Obsidian designers are)

Sawyerless Obsidian projects give you The Outer Worlds and Avowed. Quality stuff, right?
Josh Sawyer isn't hungry anymore. I don't know what it is, because it happens to so many developers in the industry, maybe it is burnout, maybe he's just too wealthy, too distanced from being a player of the game himself or just becoming old. The reason doesn't matter, it just happens all over the industry all the time.

He used to have something, yes. Now he doesn't. Now he makes games like Pentiment.

Sawyer is a good lad and a good director. He's not that bad as a designer either.
He also has the merit of listening to feedback even when delivered in a rather harsh fashion.
Most designers wouldn't have reworked their systems from their succesful game to its sequel, in order to take into account player feedback, which more often than not directly contradicted his original philosophy.
Most would also not have cared to add all the flavour reactivity to the previous game's choices in its sequel. Which is something you only do when you care about those who play your games.

He's a good lad who doesn't really get the praise he deserves, because the communities who are supposed to support this kind of work partly decided to autistically screech about inconsequential matters like your average twitterite.

I hereby salute the man and thank him for his service.

If you've ever wondered what good stuff Roguey has in his Josh Sawyer stash that he's been hiding from us, here is the tip of the iceberg:

Oh, and remember all those jokes about Todd Howard being in the chess club? Well, guess who else was in it.

Early in this video he pushes back on the use of AI images for crpg potraits. He believes that use of such images would require credit for every use of any inspiration in the data set used to create it.

That's silly. Human beings compose art based on prior imagery and learned experiences that came from any number of sources. We don't give thanks to those on a constant basis, it is the core component of how we learn and iterate. But AI apparently is fraudulent for building something new based on many, many examples of existing content? The vast majority of the time, no one would be able to discern what an AI image used as a basis point.
