1. After Doomsday - a new browser based post-apoc RPG

The art style reminds me vaguely of Chaos Overlords, a game that I almost want to play again now.
2. Review Avernum V gets the GameBanshee Treatment

I've only registered Avernum once, so I still think its pretty fun by the time the demo ends. I'm looking forward to the next one.
3. PC games of the olden days torrent pack

No need for private registration, just search "DOS games" in ISO-hunt, or in utorrent. Don't register when you don't have to. ^--beat me to it. (see above)
4. Arcanum: Balance Issues

The looking glass rifle was 40-40 everytime I played, but I don't know if I ever bothered with the patch. It was also very slow in TB, but average speed in RT. Particularly against golems, it was useful to put the game into RT and just blast and run.
5. DOSBox RPGs

Might I also recommend torrents to find DOS games. There is a four-part series out there that has some games that are particularly hard to get otherwise. It had lightspeed, which is pretty much impossible to get, so its likely to have what you need.
6. Ultima 8: Pagan. The good, the bad, and the ugly

All I remember in Ultima 8 is getting drunk and wandering around town, moaning like a blues singer. (a black one)
7. MSN on "Why we're all suckers for video game hype.&quot

The hype surrounding Mount and Blade was pretty legit. That game's pretty boss.
8. New releases of Fallout 2 - world map speed

Are you running it under Windows 95 compatability? I don't have FO2 on my comp right now, so I'm not too sure, but I don't remember the map speed being a problem. @ OP, how does one fix the annoying black screen problem?
9. When will they learn?

I'd like NPCs to blink more than they do.
10. Survey: Parents Prefer Violence to Sex in Games

I agree. The last interesting or challenging sex game I played was "sentimental shooting." Sex just isn't as fun in game terms as violence. For one thing, most fun games require both hands. This makes most sex scenes non-interactive or a click-through affair, making them a recipe for boredom.
11. Most well designed crpg: Which one is it?

Avernum- Because it can be played almost entirely with the key board.
12. Your favorite RPG villain?

Mike in JA2. I know the first time I found him I was using my typical "economy" team and shit a brick that MD and Grunty were going to have to kill Mike. Villains are always cooler when they're double-crossers, which is something rare in RPGs.
13. Level scaling - a brilliant feature or a big mistake?

I think level scaling is nonsense. Adversary progress, makes sense. If time were used instead of the PC's level, NPC scaling (for some NPCs) is probably the most realistic option available. If not level scaling, they should amass more forces or move to attack with those forces. That enemies...
14. Which version was the best Sim City?

I vote 3k. Although building the no-roads city in SC1 was pretty exciting...
15. [DnD4E]: Beholders have Eye-Fury OMG!!!!!

Sounds fine to me. Of course, I just switched from 2e to 3.5 a month ago, so I probably wont be changing anytime soon.
