  1. Game News Crusader Kings II to halt Gamersgate updates

This only goes to show the extreme amounts of ignorance on these forums. Ever thought what it means if all let's say 100K players hit that button during just a couple of days after the release of a new update? It either means your download server will crash and you have lots of disgruntled...
  2. Game News Warlock 2: The Exiled announced

I adored the first one. Seriously, one of the better games of the last years.
  3. Age of Wonders 3

Man, don't you know? Back in those fantasy times men were not such sissies like nowadays. They were real men, and those slabs of metal often even were the smaller versions of their real and true weapon (though not made of steel, mind you). /offtopic Of course the real reason the weapons are...
  4. Game News Starfarer releases version 0.53a

You guys are a bunch of weirdos. So these dudes make the wet dream of any tactical player, and then you complain it is something between a simulator and a game? I, for one, welcome our new venting overlords.
  5. Paradox Newsletter gives away another

Damn, so sometimes there are goodies in the paradox newsletter. Just how the hell do I sign up to this newsletter? I can't find any such option in my profile there. ?
  6. Be a Part of Distant Worlds: Legends

I fully agree here. The hate against the game is entirely irrational.
  7. Sci-fi 4X

SEV is actually a nice game and really not all that much micro. The worst offender with this game is its emulated directx9, which makes it slowwwww on modern computers. so slow, that turn times will take forever even on medium sized maps, last time I tried on a Dual Core E8400@3GHz Add to...
  8. Preview The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Previews

150 dungeons, more or less? Are they serious? Oh I'm weeping, alright. Especially when I compare it to the amount of dungeons in Daggerfall. How many were there? 150.000? And I'm sure I visited more than 150 in Daggerfall. And despite their randomness, they were much more immersive than those of...
  9. Dark and Gritty

Yeah, it's a pity Fallout 3 or NV didn't have some sort of city builder minigame at least. I'd love some sort of wastelands-based strategy game. But wait, theoretically, Elemental: War of Magic should have been such a game. Pity it's still pretty boring even after the many patches.
  10. Skyrim hands on at Eurogamer.

This. Also, for comparison, remember the starting dungeon in Daggerfall. Where even the rat in the starting room was dangerous for weak starting mage characters. And where liches were dangerous even to very high-level characters if caught unaware.
  11. Supreme Ruler: Cold War Demo Action

Hey, Battlegoat (or how should I address you?) I loved 2020, until I understood it well enough to hold my ground. Which is when I understood just how passive the AI is especially in non-military stuff such as economical planning. Basically, it appeared like the AIs don't have any particular...
  12. CA opens up Empire and Napoleon to modders

I've read TFA. So they explain the tools they themselves were using are just too bad to be used by modders or something. Well, guess what, using a decompiler is still a much bigger PITA than using a crappy content creation tool. Also, why the hell are they afraid of just making their source...
  13. Birth of America 2 give away by Paradox

Didn't receive anything either, so it must be some cherry picked customers... Funnily their forum system is not connected to the gamersgate account for some reason. So the forum account doesn't know about the games I own from them and wants me to enter all the serials manually to "register"...
  14. Sword of the Stars 2: Lords of Winter

No, it's a game about who's got the biggest one.
  15. Civ 3 or 4?

Did anyone ever find a solution for the extreme turn times in Civ 4? Using vanilla or any mod (some are worse) by the mid-game I lose interest simply because processing each turn starts to take up to a minute which really is not my definition of fun... And that on a not so weak Core 2 Duo...
