  1. Editorial The Rise and Fall of Troika

Let's take the 3d Realms example again. How far in advance of their release did you know that Max Payne and Prey would be "blockbusters"? Hell, we don't even have to go that far. I'm sure everybody just knew that the first Diablo was going to be a mega-hit money train. I mean, a dumbed-down...
  2. Editorial The Rise and Fall of Troika

The DNF thread in general discussion inspired me to Google Scott Miller to see what he was up to. I found this interview. Here is what he has to say about 3d Realms' publishing process:
  3. annoying the fallout community!

    I am not annoyed.
  4. World of Gothic Forum Almost As Entertaining as ESF

Hey, a Zoolander RPG would not be a bad idea. Oh, wait, it's been done.
  5. My Dungeon Cleaners impressions.

Yes, the one where all the midgets were doing your mom. Oh wait, that was actually intended to show the hedonism of the decadent west...
  6. Bethesda, ESF, and your roots...

I'm a DAC refugee myself. That being said, it's open season on ESF noobs! Hope you like your ass full of steel shot, turkeys! :x
  7. Whores of Warcraft

del.icio.us. I've got some weird people in my network (ok, I've got people interested in feminism and videogames (I would say "new media," but that term has been useless since 1999) and the whole field of Science-Technology-Society in my network because that's what I am interested in).
  8. Whores of Warcraft

Holy moly, look at what I just found: http://www.whoresofwarcraft.com/home.php Via this blog (which I also just found): http://www.mmorgy.com/ I mean, holy fuck!
  9. Normal Spam Bots or Something Less Sinister?

One the one hand, I would like to know of places to get car body repair done in the greater Moscow area. On the other hand, it is nice to know that somebody cares enough about the Codex to pretend to be a spam-robot.
  10. Oblivion's Target Audience Finally Revealed.

I just totally LOLed when I clicked that. Is there something wrong with me?
  11. Do you like Arcanum more than Fallout?

Fallout gets my vote. It's much more polished. The overall experience was more satisfying. Not to say that Arcanum wasn't a damn good game.
  12. Why is Gothic 2 better than Oblivion?

Well, this was Oblivion's main selling point, wasn't it? Somehow I was more impressed with the graphics of a 5-year old game running on a 5-year old computer than I am with Oblivion, running with the highest settings on some super-expensive l33t g4m3r PC last month.
  13. We need more drama on this site

No, it means you have a Superman complex. The problem is the WWII time period - that would be more like Captain America, except that the Captain couldn't fly. Obviously this means that you have some deep-seated issues about your past. Kind of like Batman.
  14. The Codex are Terrorists

Everyone knows that making shitty games is a worldwide Jewish Zionist conspiracy. BETHESDA IS FUNDED BY THE JEWS!!! Not only did they kill some guy named Jebus, but they're also the ones responsible for Interplay's demise. That Chuck Cuervo guy is really a Jew in disguise. Did you ever read The...
  15. Why is Gothic 2 better than Oblivion?

My reason is simple: better graphics. Sure, it doesn't have bump-mapping, but there is no comparison when it comes to the terrain. Gothic 2 wins hands-down. Actually, even the original Gothic had more impressive terrain graphics than Oblivion. Also, all the art in Gothic and Gothic 2 is much...
