    Warhammer Total War: Warhammer III

Amethyst units are very limited though. And actually so costly - it looks like upkeep reductions don't work on them - that vanilla units are probably the goto anyway.

    1eyedking What's wrong with min-maxing?

In every aspect of my life I try to do the best I can, it's just funnier this way. The best sex, the best food, the best results at work etc. A game is first and foremost a layer of mechanics glued together, one of the best fun you can have is to get the hang of it. Understanding the mechanics...

KickStarter Vagrus: The Riven Realms - post-apocalyptic fantasy caravan master RPG - now with Sunfire & Moonshadow expansion

Just booted the game a couple days ago, completely sucked into it. I just learnt there used to have a time limit, and how god am I happy it's gone. In chronology, I first came upon the information that there was a time limit, and I swear a good bunch of my hairs turned grey. Also read about the...

Incline RPG Codex's Best RPGs - 2024 - VOTING IS CLOSED

I already posted my top but I'm back playing Vagrus - The Riven Realms after some burn out on the EA some years ago, and just wow. It's absolutely going to hit my top next year. Just posting this message to get the game some awareness from codexers...

KickStarter Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy - BG1-inspired low fantasy RPG From the ATOM TEAM

Atomboy, I appreciate your spirit but sadly, you'll never be able to deliver decent combat mechanics and character building if you don't revisit your mechanics. Skill tree, cooldowns, it's trash. There a few games that I could mention for inspiration: - Dungeon Rats: notably its inventory...

KickStarter Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy - BG1-inspired low fantasy RPG From the ATOM TEAM

We are now in the 3rd title of this team, and combat is still extremelly poor. I suspect that previous games might actually do a better job than this one. We are talking about a no perk system à la Fallout (so thank you for bringing special, but without its linked perk system it's really just...

Cain on Games - Tim Cain's new YouTube channel

Gothic 1&2 didn't have any difficulty settings and were great for that. Dealing with X and Y situation, was common tongue to everyone. We all shared the very same experience.

REMOVE TROIKA FANS REMOVE TROIKA FANS THEY'RE WORSE THAN GREEKS

Arcanum combat system is bad, but if you're using harm, you can use the magic staves, they've got some mana on them, and you can switch those staves to get infinity fatigue. Well, you might need a couple of them, but, still.

Indie Archaelund: RPG that combines 1st-person exploration with 3rd-person TB combat - now available on Early Access

Keep in mind though, that this early access read like either an alpha test or a very early beta test. When you see the roadmap you get a clear sense of it. From my understanding they are using free models atm, and they are going to do their in-house models at some point.

Indie Archaelund: RPG that combines 1st-person exploration with 3rd-person TB combat - now available on Early Access

Played about 12 hours, had to stop because a spell got reworked, and it completely screwed my party (well really, it was a core spell for me, so once it was poof, the whole party felt naked). That's to tell it's early in its early access phase and should be played as a sort of alpha-test demo...

Turn-Based Tactics Veterum - Warbanners spiritual successor from Crasleen Games

There are many battles on the worldmap, also some random encounters, I guess the 20 missions are strictly main quest related. You might have to explore the entire world and thus trigger a number of side quests and random encounters in order to progress through the stroryline. Also, by mission I...

Turn-Based Tactics Veterum - Warbanners spiritual successor from Crasleen Games

I played for about an hour. Did 3 missions, had to escape the 4th one because I had no idea to win it (the last mission before bringing your report to the city). The game is beautiful. The hit chances have been increased since Warbanners, it's less about attrition and it makes encounters faster...
