Septaroad Voyager, like Final Fantasy 12 if it were built in the Octopath Traveler engine. Early Access on 1 June. Anyone want to review or test?

Yeah, just a few parts, not the whole game. There's a procgen campaign that basically has some handmade maps--some unique, some generic--that are then placed randomly, and the dungeons are randomly generated. I just wanted to get a big map out there for players to try right away. I don't think...

Where do these email titles come from?

It's these special snowflakes. They have this rallying cry "words are violence." Read The Coddling of the American Mind. It is absolutely nuts what people take seriously these days. If the "victim" perceives xirself as a victim, then xir is a victim, and the offender--regardless of intent--is an...

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: 2FA NOW MANDATORY - YOU DON'T NEED A PHONE NUMBER FFS

OK, so all of these problems were started by an alleged hacker who logged in and started messing with the forum. So now with 2FA we can be absolutely certain that it's a legitimate forum user and not a hacker the next time someone starts deleting posts and breaking the forum.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: 2FA NOW MANDATORY - YOU DON'T NEED A PHONE NUMBER FFS

ciox Thanks for the explanation. You would think if someone could hack into someone else's Codex account, he would have something better to do with his time than delete posts manually and one at a time.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: 2FA NOW MANDATORY - YOU DON'T NEED A PHONE NUMBER FFS

Once a decade? Once a century? If we need 2FA, I vote for that. As though this were a democracy, and we didn't all bow the whims of our benevolent overlords. I'm not going to bother looking through 56 pages of history to see if someone already asked. And if I was the one who asked, I guess I...

Anime Why not a "jRPG Developers" aggregation?

I love how every discussion on this site ends with someone calling someone else gay and accusing him of being a child-molester or whatever. You guys are the best. What's up H. P. Lovecraft's Cat ? I think this is the first time I've spoken to you outside the Prosperium in years...

What determines when I can use Donald Trump or Joe Biden buttons?

I think you're right. I just went over to the political section, and there were the buttons. I guess I feel dumb now for having posted a question with such a simple answer.

What determines when I can use Donald Trump or Joe Biden buttons?

I saw the new tagline on the forums: I lost the ability to rate with some buttons, I'm sad And then I wondered if I had lost any buttons. And then I remembered that sometimes I'm able to rate posts using a wide range of Donald Trumpisms, or with a senile Joe Biden "You know, man, the thing."...

zwanzig_zwoelf do you still have to pay $100 just to put your game up on Steam?

My sad story starts about 10 years ago when Unreal Engine 4 was in closed beta testing. It had started learning UDK and had made a little progress on my previous game Himeko Sutori. I was maybe a year into development when UE4 was made available. I didn't want to start over from scratch so I...

No, probably not. There are two things causing my slowdown: collision and draw calls. Collision in a 3D game engine is done through an octree lookup. An octree lookup is fast. But if you have a lot of small objects close together, then the game engine could get bogged down as the player...

Still working on the wheat. Changing the texture under the crops should be really easy. I can probably just use the same texture but tile it smaller and multiply it by a different color. The texture density will be different (I'm trying to keep it really close to constant to help with the pixel...

Wow. The most positive and encouraging thing I'm going to see today came from RobotSquirrel on RPG Codex. Most people here would have told Bester "lol you suck."

Congrats on the progress. It looks very Prosper-like. Getting the first instance of anything is the hardest. Now that you've made act 1, act 2 should go a lot faster.

The_Sloth_Sleeps Thanks for taking a look. Here it is at half density. I suppose it still kind of looks like a wheat field. But it's definitely sparser. Maybe I can get away with it. Maybe with a combination of more stalks per mesh and lower density I can get the performance up.
