  1. Company News Bioware redefines dialogue system

This was basically my reaction (at least after reading Volourn's quote of how the system worked) - I'd be very interested in seeing how a conversation worked where you chose the approach you want to take rather than the exact words. As well as being a bit clearer, it should make it easier to...
  2. New game - Phoenix of Darkness!

    Shouldn't it be Adam Kaos?
  3. Preview Oblivion E3 fun at GamersInfo

Yeah, I'm interested in how the AI stays 'under control' too. What would happen if quest npc had a low responsibility, tried to steal something, was caught, sent to prison and executed. Or just wandered off exploring and got themselves killed. Even assuming npcs don't die through their AI...
  4. I brought Dungeon Lords...

In general I'd agree with you, but in PS:T you start as an amnesiac with no recollection of your previous actions, the person you are now could be completely different to the one you were before. It's a situation that happens in real life (I think, just in case it doesn't and my argument gets...
  5. I brought Dungeon Lords...

Do you get to choose your gender and race in real life? Does that make your life any less yours? I don't have any problems with playing an amnesiac, because it's a situation you could potentially experience - you have a history, but the person who created that history isn't you, there's no...
  6. I brought Dungeon Lords...

Yep, because that's what RPG's are all about, teh swords and teh armour. I mean, there are a few reasons why you could dislike PS:T (though you'd still suck for not liking it), but picking the lack of swords and armour? WTF?
  7. Game News Combat In Oblivion: A Rebuttal to Penny Arcade

Yeah, which I'm sure would sell twice as many copies to make up for the money they would have made on the XBox version? Or did you not consider that making the game for only one platform might not be financially viable?
  8. Next Bio "CRPG of the Year" (ie NWN mod) coming

Really? It doesn't say that explicitly, but it comes pretty close. 'It's a franchise we own, so there will be other versions that will be on other platforms' at the very least means they will create Dragon Age branded games for consoles. That may not be Dragon Age 2, but it will be a Dragpn Age...
  9. Next Bio "CRPG of the Year" (ie NWN mod) coming

Did you read the interview? Part of it mentions MMO's. They didn't say they were going to make one, but they didn't exactly say they weren't either.
  10. Next Bio "CRPG of the Year" (ie NWN mod) coming

I'm happy for Bio to make console games as long as it doesn't amount to dumbing down (I haven't had a chance to play JE yet). Particularly if it's for the new XBox since it increases the chances they'll be ported to the PC. I'm less keen on the idea of them making MMO's, since Bio's games...
  11. Next Bio "CRPG of the Year" (ie NWN mod) coming

Yeah, the main reason Bio lists BG2 as one of their games is because they made it. Black Isle just did the publishery stuff.
  12. World of Warcraft Mass Cancellation

1 down, 1 million to go.
  13. Next Bio "CRPG of the Year" (ie NWN mod) coming

It's funnier (or more annoying depending on your view point) when one of the doctors mentions one of their key values being 'humility'. I like Bio's games, and it's possible that non PR people are humble, but you can hardly call Bio humble with all the hype they put out.
  14. Game News Combat In Oblivion: A Rebuttal to Penny Arcade

    Goddamn, double post
  15. Game News Combat In Oblivion: A Rebuttal to Penny Arcade

Well to be fair, that feature was in Morrowind too. It's just that for the most part attacking as quickly as possible was most effective. I always opened a fight with a power attack, since you weren't losing any time if you had the attack ready. This sounds much better than Morrowind - I'm...
