Warhammer Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector - Space Marines vs Tyranids turn-based strategy

A couple on here were convinced ahead of time this would happen, I was far more optimistic from how things had been presented. The sceptics were correct. Trying to imagine a price I'd pay for two models, or two sets of two, and coming up with pennies. The overall intent of them is clearly for...

4X Distant Worlds 2 - RTwP 4x space strategy sequel

As was expected really, although yet another wave of beta testers for anyone interested in trying it out. Marco, Slitherine's marketing manager, was saying last week that the crunch was already on for the team trying to meet existing beta feedback so I kind of hope that moving the game into next...

Warhammer Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector - Space Marines vs Tyranids turn-based strategy

I'm waiting to see how large the new unit pack is. Seems to be more models than the handful they were initially suggesting. Slitherine are suggesting something similar to how Proxy Studios have been doing Gladius where there's the smaller packs of additional units and then the main new faction...

Vapourware The definitive, authoritative, and probably non-exhaustive list of non-(IBM) PC cRPGs

Ah, of course, another dev did a conversion. Sorry. ---- Edit: As recompense for totally misunderstanding the OP, I offer the thread Dungeon (1993). So far as I can see it was only ever on ST. It's a dungeon crawler but the art style was pretty interesting for the time...

Vapourware The definitive, authoritative, and probably non-exhaustive list of non-(IBM) PC cRPGs

One I've not seen in the OP, nor on a quick scan of thread, is Bloodwych. I played it on Atari ST. It's a Dungeon Master clone which was released for ST and Amiga at the same time. Wiki

Warhammer Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters - Grey Knights turn-based tactical RPG

Not seeing anything to dissuade me yet. Pre-alpha is pre-alpha so meh but looks like a very standard TTB with a light strategy layer involving base management, research, and unit progression based on starting class (four on display in video). All very much as expected so far?

4X Distant Worlds 2 - RTwP 4x space strategy sequel

Sounds like release date for this may be slipping again. According to Slitherine, they're in a 10 day period of trying to figure out what the beta feedback means for the release date. WIth releasing on Steam too there's that obvious pressure to minimise the jank in a way which isn't there when...

World of Darkness Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 from Hardsuit Labs

Only thing to the Harebrained idea is that they were working on two unannounced titles (one of them a TTB) even prior to Bloodlines 2 being pulled from original studio and Paradox announcing a new dev had been found. Doesn't look like they've been hiring enough for a third game since. It's...

World of Darkness Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 from Hardsuit Labs

Fred's dusting off his cheque book to extend his 80s IP collection already. The last annual report said they'd already found a developer to take over this game so would seem pretty neutral all round? Still no word on who that developer is though I take it?

Card-Based Marvel's Midnight Suns - Marvel universe card-based tactical RPG from Firaxis

Thanks for the Trials of Fire recommendation, going to pick that up over the weekend to see what I've missed out on. Review has sold me on giving it a try at least. Been fascinating watching the reaction to this game. There was an eerily similar game in development, so far as the card system...

Warhammer Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters - Grey Knights turn-based tactical RPG

Just seems like the RPG tag is broadbrush marketing. If they'd released either of the two statements below as their summary of the game then the whole 'is it an RPG' discussion would be redundant. From their website: Or their twitter: Actually am looking forward to seeing what they have...

Warhammer Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters - Grey Knights turn-based tactical RPG

Ah, was wondering why I couldn't find a thread about this - it's been filed under 'RPG'. Be interesting to see what they mean by mentioning 'RPG' in the promotional stuff and whether it goes beyond squad members having stats/skills and levelling up.

KickStarter Vagrus: The Riven Realms - post-apocalyptic fantasy caravan master RPG - now with Sunfire & Moonshadow expansion

Seen their release date announcement is this week so tons of luck to them with the move out of EA. Looking forward to settling down to a full play through with it.

Warhammer Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector - Space Marines vs Tyranids turn-based strategy

Agree with you on the mission mop up and made my feelings known pretty clearly on feedback in detail for each one. For how they used feedback, you saw a patch within a month of release from a small team while we'd been testing within a couple of weeks from release. The bigger picture to it is...

Warhammer Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector - Space Marines vs Tyranids turn-based strategy

Hadn't thought of it like that, although I've got to assume that we're not using the land speeder to scout, let alone giving it upgrades to increase the combination of its base visual range and safe movement.
