  1. Should CRPGs try to emulate PnP

That is an overly sweeping statement. In cRPGs the character can also be define by what he does, or IOW, by the action it takes. Think about it the other way around - ask yourself: if in two play through you play different characters that made mostly the same choices (same actions), but...
  2. Civ goes hexagonal

Yes, but I think an approximation could have been a good enough solution. For example: lats say that the *base* action cost is five points instead of one. Five because it has two advantages: 1) relative to other constants it is easy for humans to think in multiplies of five 2) root[ 5^2 +...
  3. Game News Spirit Engine 2 is Freeware

Hah! I'm so lazy it has is reached dumbass proportions.
  4. Game News Spirit Engine 2 is Freeware

I'm really happy for you and imma let you finish but i still want to 1) hear opinions of people how actually use it 2) know if any anyone played a games they consider half decent that was made by this engine
  5. Preview Fallout: New Vegas previewed

If by saying Games you mean idiots, and by saying journalism you mean a keyboard than I agree.
  6. New Fallout 3 Screens

We need a new RPG discussion thread: "RPG and perspective - player vs. character, tactical vs. FPP."
  7. Jagged Alliance 3 interview at Jagged Alliance Center

My biggest fear now is that the gameplay will be - fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, .... In JA2 the repetitiveness was broken up by the micromanagement, and almost completely un-annoyingly so (the only thing that bothered me was the...
  8. Game News Depths of Peril: patch and monsters

If that's really annoys a lot of people here (it doesn't annoy me personally), then I suggest consolidating all non major updates to 1-2 headlines a week. If they (the patches) are minor/not that important then the stuff should sit on them for three days (at least) and release one news item.
  9. Jagged Alliance 3 interview at Jagged Alliance Center

What do we have here? A company that makes hamburgers, but says they want to make it more appealing to more casual hamburgers eaters, and they are doing it by removing the pickles, the onions, the tomato and the lettuce, maybe even the mayonnaise, because hi, everybody likes the burger in the...
  10. New Fallout 3 Screens

And yet they have at least 50 points in big guns, energy weapons, small guns, and probably 100 in melee weapons and unarmed. Go figure. :?

  12. GIVE ME BACK CARDTRICKS WITCHER REVIEW!!!

This reminds me of an old (lame) joke - A guy walks in to a pub and ask the bartender for a beer, the bartender asks him what kind of a beer do you want, so the guy says "a good one".

  14. Review The Escapist bitch-slaps The Witcher

the minute He said "I'm sorry my article was labeled as a review" that's it, there is nothing else to do but beat a dead horse, Russ Pitts On the other hand... You know who he reminded me with the part I quoted? Peter Molyneux.
