The Codex’s Best Computer RPGs (pre-Diablo)

3 points: Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall (Bethesda) 2 points: Wizardry 7: Crusaders of the Dark Savant (Sir-Tech) Exile 3: The Ruined World (Spiderweb Software) Darklands (Microprose) 1 point: Princess Maker 2 (Gainax) 1 Disclaimer: that's only from games which I've played and enjoyed. Odds that...

Lord of the Rings Online goes F2P

It is quite possible that Turbine/WB intended to do just that and when some suckers dedicated devs offered money, gladly took them.

    Vapourware Daggerfall Unity isnt Vaporware

You can real-travel in Daggerfall, it is just excruciatingly boring for vast majority of people. You can roughly estimate how long it will take to travel from one city to another by looking the number of days for reckless travel by horse and divide it by about 15 to get number or real time...

I Finally Decided to Try LOTRO

You actually don't need to pay for epic book quests up to Helms Deep. You'll just miss all non-epic stuff in a region.

Star Wars: The Old Republic will kill WoW - outsourced to Broadsword

For some unfathomable reason, they still do. Rarely though, but I've recently heard a plea to help defeat a jedi master on Tatooine for sith warrior story.

Star Wars: The Old Republic will kill WoW - outsourced to Broadsword

I can't say there is a Codex guild. There was a Codex guild for a brief time. On Red Eclipse. What remains is "playing house".

Star Wars: The Old Republic will kill WoW - outsourced to Broadsword

Ok, you, fags from defunct Shepards of Diversity guild. It has a flagship now, 'cos I did not know what to do with all this creds before my sub expires. Feel free to defile it, if anyone still gives a shit.

Star Wars: The Old Republic will kill WoW - outsourced to Broadsword

I am unsure is JK story just stupidly Epic or epicly stupid. :) Still it was a fun romp, finished it last weekend.

Lord of the Rings Online goes F2P

You technicallly can do Epic line (i.e. main story quest) without buying anything until Helms Deep. You won't get area quests though and probably starve for xp, but I know people who get fairly far that way, grinding a few free scirmishes. Soloing the game is easy now, not as easy as current...

Star Wars: The Old Republic will kill WoW - outsourced to Broadsword

Now doing just class and planetary chains gives tons of XP. With level-synch (meaning you NEVER outlevel content) you'll likely hit level 65 before finishing main story. So the planetary quests are mostly redundnant. I wonder why XP boosts are still sold...

Star Wars: The Old Republic will kill WoW - outsourced to Broadsword

Huh... Suddenly Conquest Objective fulfilled happened for 2 crafters, got some java junk and cash. WTF? Did not know I participated in any Conquests :) Well, in Consular story the Forge is some ancient secret, the origin of lightsaber crafting, and you make "the last one" which supposed to be...

Star Wars: The Old Republic will kill WoW - outsourced to Broadsword

I am not really a SW fanboy, but it definitely hold a lot of attraction as a setting to me. I came to swtor for interactive movie experience which I found relatively nicely done in later BW games like ME and (yes) DA2. I fully intend to quit after completion of all storylines. Unfortunately I...
