  1. Judge me on Fable 2, next project 'ridiculously ambitious'

ahem... hmm...ahem...*cough* Fuck Peter Molynuex. /bow
  2. Pirates of the Burning Sea Fails

heh, I would strip out our avatar system in a sec if i had my way. it's clunky, doesn't synergise well when fighting in groups, doesn't feel good when navigating through the map, and just doesn't live up to the level of players expectations in comparison to the ship combat. There is some talk...
  3. Pirates of the Burning Sea Fails

agreed, i hate the amount of instancing we do. sadly it was a design and development decision way before i came on board, back when the game was just going to be a limited naval engagement simulator. The game grew in scope, but we were stuck with the limitations of the engines we were using.
  4. Pirates of the Burning Sea Fails

eh? not sure what you're asking here. Are you asking if MMO's increase the monthly subscription costs to offset the lack of subscriptions?
  5. Pirates of the Burning Sea Fails

yup, guilty as charged although, while i agree with a good bit of HS assessment, merging the servers was a good thing. Our game is more fun with higher population densities, so in spite of the perception it would cause (oh noes, we're crashing and burning!!!11!!) we went ahead with it to...
  6. Delta Green

flying lab still posses the Delta Green IP, but John Tynes (the mad genius behind Delta Green) has moved on from Flying Lab to Microsoft. Is the potential still there to make it? Sure. Is it on the plans for the moment? nope. I sure as fuck would love to work on it though, that's for...
  7. Pirates of the Burning Sea looks f***ing kick ass

i'm curious as to what you'd want to see in mission diversity (since thats the only area that i can do anything about.
  8. Volournian Quick & Early Mass Effect Thoughts

i really wish they had expanded on that Krogan Doctor you encounter. Wrex gives this speech about how there are no Krogan Scientists and how that's part and parcel to why the krogans are basically fucked as a species, but then you encounter not only a krogan doctor but one who apparently has...
  9. Pirates of the Burning Sea looks f***ing kick ass

ahhh...gotcha. I don't think we'd intentionally dumbdown the game for the action crowd. The Ship combat is where we want it to be and we love the pacing and flow of ship battles. Swashbuckling...personally i don't think we've got it "just right" yet. I think we have a system that feels...
  10. Pirates of the Burning Sea looks f***ing kick ass

where do you see evidence of dumbing down?
  11. Pirates of the Burning Sea looks f***ing kick ass

meh, it's a game. The point of it is for people to enjoy it and, maybe even more importantly, enjoy each other in it. Thats why we listen to our players, keep open dialogs with them, and if they bring up a valid point we can admit we were wrong and they were right. although, i think folks...
  12. Cool Age of Conan trailer

i'm interested as hell to see how this game goes. i mean, what other game where male characters start out as galley slaves and women characters start out as "entertainment" slaves, sex gives you buffs, and has more gore than a saw movie?
  13. Pirates of the Burning Sea looks f***ing kick ass

Red Tide is a bitch. i hate our group mission indicator and we're working to change it to something clearer soon. If you open your mission log and look at Red Tide you'll see a little icon next to the mission name....yeah, thats what we use to tell you that it's a group mission.../facepalm...
  14. Pirates of the Burning Sea looks f***ing kick ass

how so? our internal numbers are showing a pretty balanced population, with more in britain and pirates, but not as large a gap as we were worrying about.
  15. Pirates of the Burning Sea looks f***ing kick ass

yeah, you want to do your career missions as soon as they come available. They generally give you access to career defining core skills (not to mention new clothing options). Every 5 levels you'll want to break from whatever you're doing and pursue your career missions.
