  1. Codex Interview with Afterfall lead designer

As rico pointed out, one of the [few] things that worries me somewhat is the writing, mostly on the website. Hopefully they'll take some greater care with the in-game writing, or at least amass the funds for a good translation.
  2. Cyberpunk?

Those are exactly my thoughts. In the end I turned to pen & paper RPGs, Transhuman Space in particular. Though not strictly dystopic in nature, it takes a hard scientific approach, which can be adapted into cyberpunk.
  3. Interview NMA discusses Fallout 3 with Desslock

http://www.gamebanshee.com/previews/fallout3-1.php This preview reiterates the state of Fallout 3 in our points of view.
  4. Portal

The concept is great, and the game's difficulty ramps up towards the end, though not enough. Thankfully this game is a prime target for the community.
  5. Sam 'n' Max: S1

I played through the first two episodes thus far. The puzzles are not up to classic Lucasarts standards, and for most they'll probably be a breeze. It's quite a funny game in my opinion, and apparently it gets considerably better as the season continues.
  6. Bioshock demo is out

Between the overabundance of every supply possible, the disappointing endgame, the endless fetch quests, the extremely simplistic weapons modification, the tedious hacking, and other, more spoilerific problems, it's hard to get irritated by that particular feature, which ends up being more of a...
  7. Bioshock demo is out

As a spiritual successor, it fails badly. In absolute terms, it's great fun until the end where it falls into generic FPS gameplay pitfalls, with a corny end sequence (at least on the good ending). I'll elaborate more later.
  8. Bioshock demo is out

Are the spoilers just in the writing in the artbook?
  9. Bioshock demo is out

For the most part this is true, but there are still gameplay systems that weren't introduced in the demo. There will be a character development system, but it'll be more like modular upgrades combined with the attributes and skillset. They're called Gene Tonics, and they weren't in the demo. You...
  10. Preview Completely fucking nuts: a Molyneux article

It makes you wonder how his team feels about being associated with this nutcase.
  11. Mass Effect Dialogue the WAVE OF THE FUTURE?!

Forgive me if I've misunderstood, but hasn't that already been done in some fashion? Games like Fallout and Planescape: Torment adjust what dialog you can say based on your intelligence, and it has skill checks incorporated as well. The only difference is that you see the pre-generated dialog...
  12. Looks like Blizzard is announcing a new game....

It's not that, it's just that StarCraft felt and looked rather gritty. People just want that to carry into StarCraft II, which it has for the most part. Now that I see the animations for some of these units I'm definitely pleased with how the game is turning out, though there is still an overly...
  13. Looks like Blizzard is announcing a new game....

I do get a slight cartoony feel to it, but the animations really help it along. The epic music is probably there since it is still a huge unveiling. I'm sure we'll get the same rocking tunes as the first one.
  14. Deus Ex Three : Another shitty console game

Well, yeah, but this time it involves their precious profit. So I guess being naive is at least justified.
  15. Deus Ex Three : Another shitty console game

To my knowledge, Invisible War bombed in sales compared to the original. I'd think that Eidos would at least be careful this time around, so I wouldn't be so hasty.
